Paper map of France, water-soluble adhesive.
Residency project at La Napoule Art Foundation, France
55 cm in diameter X 0.1 cm.
I cut up a map of France into thin strips and immersed them in a solution of water and glue. As they dried, I reconstructed a flat map whose meanders are illegible and on which we get lost. The expression Make a Map France is an old locution referring to the stain left on the sheets after a wet dream.
