The Cit\u00e9 Internationale Universitaire de Paris<\/a> is a campus of international student housing to graduate students and researchers. Hosting 6000 people each year, the CIUP is a city in itself in the middle of Paris. For three months, I accumulated various found paper materials, then developed site-specific installations and short interventions.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From these found papers, I carried out two deployable structures : Projet Tori<\/strong> & D\u00e9construire Paris<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by origami technique, I build identical modules based on an image of the Itsukushima Shrine, having found several hundred copies of it in a recycling bin. The modules model a budding tree leaf. The forms thus created are flexible and foldable. They can be flattened and stacked in a box.

On a daily basis, I cut out photographs of Paris houses for sale, advertised in real estate agencies catalogues. These catalogues are printed in colour on glossy paper and freely distributed every week on the street.

Like a puzzle without a predefined shape, paper pieces are displayed on a table in the studio.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using a pizza box cover, I constructed a box that can be folded into one piece, hold all the pieces of the project Deconstructing Paris, and be transportable.
